Q: Do you accept email reservations?

Reservations must be by telephone (250-595-8020) or in person. Please be patient if you sent us an reservation by email because we only have one reservation book and it resides by the telephone in our tearoom.

 

Q: Do you accept reservations by voicemail?

Reservation by voicemail is OK. However, we encourage speaking to a staff member to reserve your seating if possible. This way we avoid any miscommunication. If you want to leave a voicemail reservation, please provide the following information:

1) Name

2) Date and time of your planned visit

3) Number of people in your group

4) Contact number

 

Q: Should I make a reservation?

Making a reservation is highly encouraged. Lunch hour, Fridays and Saturdays are our busiest time and days. We will accommodate walk-in guests to the best of our ability, but reserved guests have precedence. In addition, knowing an approximate number of customers to expect, assists us with estimating amount of food to prepare; it enables us to minimize food waste while delivering  better quality and more timely service.

 

Q: Do you have a dress code?

We do not have a strict dress code. We like our guests to be comfortable; however we ask that you are mindful that everyone is there to enjoy a visit with their friends and family, no offensive images or clothing please. 

 

Q: Why do you have a maximum 90 minutes seating time?

In order to keep our appointments with other guests please be respectful of our 90-minute seating times. To keep sustainably operations as a business we have scheduled each seating to be 90-minutes long. If there are no reservations after your group, you are welcome to linger past 90 minutes seating time.

 

Q: How is the seating time calculated?

The 90 minutes duration starts from your reserved time. For example, if you reserved for 11:30 am, but arrived at 11:45 am, you would have lost 15 minutes of your seating time. We understand that plans do not always work out the way we wish. If you are running late, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

 

Q: Why do you have a minimum charge of $11.75 per person?

Our minimum charge of $11.75 per person is in effect between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. One reason is that we incur a minimum cost per table, as our tables are dressed in white tablecloths and we provide cloth napkins. Another reason is that we are a full service restaurant and want to be able to provide a high level of quality and service. We do not expect very young children to meet our minimum charge, and they are often welcome to share a meal with their parents. 

 

Q: May I take away my leftovers?

You are welcome to takeaway any unfinished food. Our food is made with love, and we hate to see it thrown away. We strive to minimize food waste as much as possible. Please keep in mind that most of our food (particularly sandwiches, salads, and items containing fresh dairy) require immediate refrigeration, and it should be consumed within a day or two.
